Accounting Manager Position

We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will do what it takes to support some of today’s largest companies/brands like Dave & Busters, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Major League Baseball, Simon Malls, Disney, Round One, Warner Bros, and many more.  The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting operations of Apple Industries and its affiliated companies, including the production of periodic financial reports, cash management, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

What you will do in a snapshot

  • Oversee the Accounting Department
  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements and reports including monthly and annual operating budgets, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and other financial forecasts
  • Oversee inventory control procedures and documentation
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Coordinate multi-company insurance audits and policy renewal review
  • Perform internal financial audit review and coordinate with an external accounting firm to prepare multi-company annual tax returns
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and reasonable discounts are taken
  • Ensure that accounts receivable is collected promptly, monthly bank reconciliations are completed, and debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system
  • Process payroll and record benefit time in a timely manner
  • Coordinate line of credit renewal and prepare monthly borrowing base certificate if required
  • Prepare quarterly and annual licensing forecast and revenue reports

Will you be the perfect fit?

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • You have 5+ years of overall combined senior accounting or financial management experience
  • You have experience in the manufacturing industry
  • You have thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, finance, and payroll
  • You have experience with creating financial statements
  • You have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • You have advanced computer skills, specifically in MS Office, Excel
  • You have expert-level QuickBooks skills
  • You understand applicable laws and regulations including federal regulation on taxes and reporting
  • You can deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills
  • You have impeccable analytical skills and attention to detail
  • You have strong interpersonal and clear and effective written and verbal English communication skills
  • You can work closely with senior management
